First Annual Cannafest at DOMM.life 10/12/19

The First Annual Trap Culture, Arizona Cannafest 2019

When there is a niche for doing an event that is distinguishable and patient-centric, leave it up to the team over at Trap Culture to raise the bar when it comes to medical cannabis events here in the Valley of the Sun.

We here at Weedly Phoenix were lucky enough to attend this new annual event and we couldn’t be more impressed by the final turn out.

The event was held at DOMM.life and was able to fill half of the back parking lot with plenty of your favorite top of the line vendor brands, complete with dabs and swag. A full line up of some amazing DJs like R3ll, W.A.S.H., CoinFlip, Yules & Jur were bringing the beats on the ones and twos, and while it was hot outside in normal Phoenix fashion, the patients were being attended to with much needed bottles of water (compliments of the Marijuana Nurses)

The lines flowed quickly and easily and allowed for everyone to get into the event without any hassles and that, in turn worked at the vendor booths and patients were able to get to talk to the teams manning them and to take advantage of their samples, i.e. dabs of their concentrates or prerolls, stickers, shirts, etc.

Brands such as GreenPharms Dispensary, MadTerp Labs, The Marijuana Doctor, Cresco Labs, Select, Clean Concentrates, Pucks, Moxie, Good Things Coming, Sol Flower Wellness, The Good Dispensary, Venom Extracts and many, many more arrived at this years Cannafest!

Security was handled smoothly and we always have to give it up to them for keeping everyone safe and secure at a medical event. Watching the 2000 patients that attended the event was no small task, security is an important part of these events and I feel they don’t get enough shine and so here’s to their due respect.

Our friend David and the team at Trap had a meet and greet with the lovely Cannababes Melissa Marie & Angela Mazzanti. Patients were able to rub elbows, get some social media content and autographs from the two, which added a nice little touch to things and allowed for the ladies to meet some of their dedicated followers.

A VIP area inside of DOMM for the 100 patients who purchased the different ticket type did not go unnoticed. Cresco sponsored the dab bar in that section, as well as chicken fingers catered by Raising Canes and tacos by local favorite La Monarca. It was well needed by all the folks who would obviously had to have the munchies! I grabbed myself some of course, as I was not immune to the medication and it definitely did the trick and helped me continue on with the event (..that was probably the case for the many others that were lounging in the VIP area!)

Local news stations such as Channel 12 News covered the event for their evening segment that night and the following day. This event was a landmark and set the bar as far as where this community is going in the future, with its events for every patient in the city and even those that are potential future patients.

It’s about changing the stigma in the world and making it more commonplace for everyone to enjoy events like these, to have a good time just like anyone else, regardless of our physical ills and ailments and not be looked at like criminals.

It’s for everyone and all were welcome (if they had an AZMMJ card, of course) to enjoy the games and prizes, food and refreshments, and just overall fun in the Arizona sun.

Did I mention that they had a Rolling Competition sponsored by the Rolling Tray App as an extra addition of fun for all those attending? Oh, that and the fact that all of this was FREE for the patients attending!

Yes, this was a cannabis festival for the books and if it’s the first one, then I cannot wait until next year when we can do it all over again with new features and entertainment to help continue the movement that Trap Culture seems to be making in the community.

If you missed it, you can find their upcoming events on our calendar where we’ll have all the best celebrations that the Phoenix, Arizona cannabis community has to offer. We hope everyone enjoyed the event and the images we got from that day and if you see yourself, feel free to download and share to show you attended and was in on all the fun.

We for one here at Weedly Phoenix have to give a special thanks to Trap for the invite and for always giving shine to the community that we all love and call home.

Thanks again everyone and until the next time,

Uncle Nick Smokes
